Andrew Murphy


worked for three local authorities between 1993 and 2003. He joined Stansgate Planning in 2003, becoming Director in 2014. His projects have included major residential development, waste management, marina developments, equestrian, holiday parks, residential care homes, houses in multiple occupation, solar energy and urban regeneration proposals. For over 20 years he has been an expert witness at many public inquiries for public and private sector clients, specialising in residential development appeals.

Liz Nicholson

BSc(Hons) MSc DipTP MRTPI (Director)

joined Stansgate Planning in early 2016, having previously worked in both urban and rural local government development management teams for 18 years, and most recently at Stratford-on-Avon District Council as the Planning Manager for 8 years, leading the applications and appeals team. Since joining Stansgate Planning, she has worked on a wide range of projects, including large-scale urban industrial and residential schemes, major development in the Green Belt, enforcement cases and appeals work.

Keith Williams

DipTP DipProjMan MRTPI MRICS (Consultant)

has been employed in town and country planning since 1970. He began his career in local government working for County and District Planning Authorities in the West Midlands. He subsequently joined a leading commercial and industrial development company, dealing with the identification, appraisal, and successful completion of development opportunities. He has been a partner/director in Stansgate Planning since its formation in 1986 and has acted for clients and appeared as an expert witness over a broad spectrum of planning work.

Miranda Rogers

(Principal Planner)

worked for three years in the house building industry, dealing with land buying and planning matters, before joining Stansgate Planning in 2001. She has since worked on a wide range of projects involving all aspects of planning including development control, enforcement, lawful use applications, appeal work and site promotion.

Rachel Best

(Principal Planner)

started her career in local government development control before moving into house building in 1991, where she dealt with a range of planning matters including strategic site identification, site appraisal, planning applications and appeals. She joined Stansgate Planning in 2009, where she specialises in strategic site promotion and housing applications along with aspects of development control, and development plan representations.

Alison Young

Senior Planner

joined Stansgate Planning in January 2020 having previously worked as a Consultant Planning Officer for local authorities in Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Alison has previously worked in local authority development management for over 20 years dealing with a wide range of all types of planning applications and appeals. Since joining Stansgate Planning, she has been working on a variety of projects and submitting a number of planning applications.

Rola Eldahouk

joined Stansgate in June 2018 as the team’s planning technician. Working with a variety of computer aided design software, she can provide plans, drawings and bespoke technical work in support of planning application submissions and other projects. Subject to the submission of her final piece of project work, Rola will soon hold a BA (Hons) in Architectural Design, RIBA Part 1 through Yeats Academy of Arts, Design & Architecture, Institute of Technology Sligo in Ireland.
